RACE DISTANCES:

SATURDAY'S RACES ~

Super Sprint — Saturday morning’s Super Sprint Triathlon is designed to be short and fun, perfect for first timer and family participation. The Super Sprint distance will be a 200 yard swim - 6 mile out and back bike - and a 2 mile out and back run.

TriAmerica TriKidz — A mini triathlon just for kids ages 6-14! Juniors ages 6-10 will swim 100 yards, bike 3 miles and run 1/2 mile. Seniors ages 10-15 will swim 200 yards, bike 6 miles, and run 1 mile.

SUNDAY'S RACES ~

New TriAmerica Distance — The featured event is our new TriAmerica distance triathlon with a 2K swim (1.24 miles), 60K bike (37.3 miles), and a 15 K run (9.3 miles).

Short Course Distance — Run in conjunction with the TriAmerica distance race, the short course distance will be 1/2 of the TriAmerica Distance: 1K swim (.62 miles), 30K bike (18.6 miles), and an 8K run (4.97 miles).

COURSES:

  • The swim takes place in Clear Lake.  All races will utilize an in-water start. 
  • The bike course is a flat and fast, out and back course surrounding the Johnson Space Center and and the Amand Bayou. The Sunday short and long course triathlons will utilize A 30K loop course.  Long course participants will complete two loops of the course.
  • The run will be a flat out and back course beginning and finishing through the quaint neighborhoods of Pasadena, with the majority of the run taking place on the Armand Bayou Hike and Bike Trail.

Additional Event Information

START-FINISH

Saturday's races will start and finish on the Clear Lake side of Clear Lake Park.  This is the portion of the park south of Nasa Road 1.

Sunday's race will utilize a split transition area with the race start and first transition located on the Clear Lake side of the park.  The second transition (bike to run) and race finish will take place on the north side of the park on the north side of Nasa Road 1.

PARKING

Parking for both days will be in the main parking lots of Clear Lake Park.

TRANSITIONS

The main transition area for all events will be the parking lot adjacent to the White Top Pavillion on the south side of the park.  For Sunday's races, the bike racks are individually labeled for each participant.  For Saturday's races athletes rack in designated zones.

Sunday's races will have a split transition area with the bike to run transition located on the north side of the park.  Athletes will pre-stage their run gear in their designated labeled space in the transition area.

SWIM

The swim course will be marked with large triangular buoys.  Sunday's course will be a 1K loop.  Long course swimmers will complete two loops of this course.

WATER STATIONS

Water stations are located every mile of the run course and will have water and Gatorade available.  The long course bike course will have one water bottle exchange station located at the the start of the second lap.  Water and Gatorade will be available.

Packet Pick-up Info

Registration and Packet Pick-up for all events will take place in the White Top Pavillion on the Clear Lake side of Clear Lake Park.  This is the pavillion closest to the boat ramp.

In accordance with USA Triathlon Rules, all participants must show a photo ID in order to pick up their packet. 

Race Day Registraion is available on Saturday, but not on Sunday.  Online Registration for Sunday's races remains open all day Saturday.

REGISTRATION TIMETABLE:

Saturday, June 14

5:30am - 6:45am ~ Super Sprint Packet Pick-up and Late Registration

8:00am - 8:55am ~ TriKidz Packet Pick-up and Late Registration

10:30am - 5:00pm ~ Packet Pick-up and Late Registration for Sunday's Races.

Sunday, June 15

5:15am - 6:45am ~ Packet Pick-up, No Race Day Registration Available
